Lady of the Sky, a treehouse sculpture in the form of a skewed pentagon, nestles in a 350 year old douglas fir tree. Accessible via a 65 foot suspension bridge, the structure rises 50 feet above ground and is constructed with steel compression rings, suspension cables, milled redwood and fir slabs, photomural walls and operable, screened vinyl windows. Lady of the Sky doubles as a tree house artist residency, opening Fall 2018. Its interior includes handcrafted table, convertible daybed with photo pillows and handmade quilts, vinyl stained glass corner window, kitchen pantry with mini fridge, solar power, hot and cold water and half bath. Designed by Tracy Ginsberg, engineered by Ken Huck, with solar/electric by Theodore Lillie and high rigging by Josh Thompson, Lady of the Sky was built by Ginsberg, Huck, Lillie, Thompson and a cadre of friends.
